Mr. Dale Wilson holds a rich history of service and dedication to his family and his country. Raised in Buffalo, NY, Dale came to Murray, KY to attend Murray State University, where he is a 1969 graduate, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Physical Education.
Dale and his wife, Sheryl, met during their time at Murray State University and currently reside in Franklin, TN. The Wilsons have a son, Tim; two daughters, Courtney and Elizabeth; and 6 grandchildren.
Dale’s professional career began in 1970 with his time as a teacher and football coach at Columbia High School in Decatur, GA. Following his time as an educator, in 1971, Dale began his career as a United States Secret Service Special Agent. During the following three decades, he worked in field offices including Atlanta, GA; Savannah, GA; Washington DC; and Newark, NJ.
During Wilson’s storied career as a special agent, he was assigned to the Presidential Protective Division for the Carter and Reagan administrations, the Vice-Presidential Protective Division for President H.W. Bush, and served in the Dignitary Protective Division for Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger.
Following his time on the Presidential Protective Division, Dale served in the Candidate Nominee Protective Division as special agent in charge, in the following capacities: President Clinton and Vice President Gore’s election, Democrat and Republican National Conventions, three presidential debates and the 1993 Presidential Inauguration.
Wilson was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 1992 as the special agent in charge of the Protective Intelligence Division. He retired in 2000, after a tenured service in the Office of Protective Operations, Office of Inspection and the Office of Public Affairs.
Following his retirement, Wilson went on to serve as the executive assistant to the Inspector General in the U.S. Department of Labor, where he retired in 2015. He served as a volunteer at the Lamb Center, a Christian-based homeless shelter in Fairfax, VA until 2020, when he and his wife relocated to Franklin, TN, to be near their family.
