All entries must conform to the official health regulations governing the exhibition of livestock in Kentucky. All animals exhibited shall be identified individually on a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) written in the current calendar year (Jan 1 through Dec 31). The Racer Classic Beef and Swine Shows are open to ALL STATES and any exhibitor 21 years old and younger on January 1, 2026.
Registration fees through June 1: $20 per entry for swine and $30 per entry for cattle. Each entry will be charged individually for the market show or breeding show respectively.
Register online at https://bit.ly/racer-classic-show. Once you register, you will be sent an invoice for the registration fees. Registration closes at 11:59 PM on Friday, June 5, 2026.
Additional entries will be accepted on the day of the show. Onsite registration fees are $40 per entry for swine and $60 per entry for cattle.
The Murray State Block & Bridle Racer Classic Show Committee shall have the authority to enforce and interpret any and all rules. The committee’s decisions are final.
Exhibitors are encouraged to show off of their trailers.
Due to space limitations, exhibitors may be asked by the Show Committee to tighten up or share pen or bedding areas. Bedding will not be provided for exhibitors.
Exhibitors are expected to treat their animals in a manner consistent with good animal husbandry and display proper sportsmanship at all times.
If an exhibitor violates any of the rules and regulations of the Murray State Block & Bridle Racer Classic Show, they will be denied the opportunity to participate in the events and forfeit all premiums won.
The Shows will begin approximately 30 minutes after the Grand and Reserve Grand selection of the final species at the Kentucky Junior Livestock Expo-Western Rivers, BUT NOT BEFORE 1:00 pm Central Time.
Murray State University Block & Bridle, the William “Bill” Cherry Ag Expo Center, and the Racer Classic Show Executive Committee are not responsible for accidents, injuries to people or livestock, or lost, stolen, or damaged equipment, or property.
Purebred classes will be offered for both Market Hogs and Breeding Gilts.
Registration papers are required to be shown in a purebred class.
Market Hogs will be shown by breed and weight.
Commercial Gilts (“non-papered” gilts) will be shown by weight.
Purebred gilts will be shown by age.
You may “double enter” and show a gilt as both a Market Hog and a Breeding Gilt, if you pay the entry fee for both divisions.
There must be three (3) head entered to have a breed show in Market Hogs and Breeding Gilts. If less than 3 head are entered, they can be shown in a Light AOB Division or Dark AOB Division.
There is no lower or upper weight limit for Market Hogs or Commercial Gilts.
There is no age requirement for Purebred Gilts.
Weigh Cards for Commercial Gilts and Market Hogs must be turned in by 12:00 Noon the day of the show.
The Show Committee reserves the right to weigh-back the top 3 placing pigs directly out of the show ring. Any pig weighing over 15 pounds of its declared weight will be disqualified and the remaining pigs in the class will move up in placing.
Awards will be presented to Breed Champions and Reserve Breed Champions in both the Market Hog Division and Breeding Gilt Division. A Special Award and Banner will be presented to the Supreme Champion Market Hog Overall, Reserve Supreme Champion Market Hog Overall, Supreme Champion Breeding Gilt Overall, and Reserve Supreme Champion Breeding Gilt Overall.
Breeding heifers must be registered and in the exhibitor’s name in order to show.
Breeding heifers must have been born between September 1, 2024 and April 30, 2026 to compete in the show.
All cattle must be trained in the halter.
Market heifers will be shown by weight only, not by breed.
Market steers will be shown by breed and weight with crossbreds following purebred classes.
There must be three (3) head entered to have a breed show in Market Steers and Breeding Heifers. If less than 3 head are entered, they can be shown in AOB Divisions: British, Continental, or American.
No bull, bullock, or bred and owned bull classes will be offered.
Steers and Market Heifers must be within 50 pounds above declared show weight. Any animals weighing over 50 pounds of its declared weight will be disqualified and the remaining animals will move up in placing.
Awards will be presented to Breed Champions and Reserve Breed Champions in both the Market Animal Division and Breeding Heifer Division. A Special Award and Banner will be presented to the Supreme Champion Market Animal Overall, Reserve Supreme Champion Market Animal Overall, Supreme Champion Breeding Heifer Overall, and Reserve Supreme Champion Breeding Heifer Overall.
A Showmanship Contest will be offered and broken into four (4) Divisions according to age as of January 1, 2026.
Awards will be presented to each Division Champion. A Special Award will be presented to the Supreme Champion Showman Overall and the Reserve Supreme Champion Showman Overall.
