Welcome to the research website for Spring 2020's HIS 400 cohort! This semester, our projects integrated the history of the Jackson Purchase and its people into broader global histories using the collections of Pogue Library at Murray State University. HIS 400 is the capstone class for History majors and was taught by Dr. Eleanor Rivera in Spring 2020. This semester's research projects were independently chosen by students to reflect both their research interests and this semester's theme. Projects explore the impact of war, race, memory, and social changes in the Jackson Purchase region.
Due to Covid-19, we will be unable to present our research to you in person. We hope you will join us here instead as we connect local and global histories.
We are historians.
We are Racers.
