Reading is to the mind, what exercise is to the body.

Mission
Our mission is to foster a love of reading in our students that follows them throughout their lives. We strive to cultivate the ability to think critically,
stimulate creativity, and develop effective communication skills. These understandings will empower our students to transform their lives and the lives of those around them.
We are here to serve and support our students by supplying them with a wide range of media formats, from traditional print resources to the latest in digital technologies. We will continuously strive to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure our students are fully equipped for success beyond graduation.
Vision
We aspire for our students to become versatile, innovative, and forward-thinking individuals who are well-equipped to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. We believe that by embracing media literacy, we can inspire a future where information is harnessed as a force for knowledge, understanding, and empowerment.
Beliefs
We believe that:
A passion for reading serves as a strong foundation for academic success, personal enrichment, and intellectual freedom.
The media center should be a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel safe, respected, and valued.
Meet the Media Staff
Hi! I'm Mrs. Hensley, and I LOVE books!!!! I also love teaching, and seeing students visit the Library. Lots of different and WONDERFUL things happen in the here!
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Jeff. We have three doggies Lexie, Ruger, and Herschel. We live in Murray County, raising cattle and living the farm life. I enjoy READING (Surprise!), baking, hiking, and shopping. Also, I attend Holly Creek Baptist Church.
I have been teaching at Coker since the school opened it's doors (Yes, I am THAT old!) I began my career as a first grade paraprofessional, and after earning my degree in education, I taught first grade. Eventually, and a few degrees and certificates later, I was BLESSED to become the Librarian. Many things have changed over the years, but my love of students and teaching has not. I am blessed to have a job that I love!
I proudly say that I am a product of Murray County Schools! I graduated from Murray High in 1991. Following high school, I attended Dalton State College, Brenau University, and the University of West Georgia.
Picture Below: Xander is dressed as his favorite teacher! 😃 I was honored!
