Applications are currently open for both the CIF Winter Spirit of Sport Award and the CIF Scholar Athlete of the Year Award.

In addition to the CIF State scholarships Ryan sent links to this week, our Central Section application is now live.

Your league selections are due in our office by Monday, April 3. With the formation of more leagues, the Central Section is awarding more scholarships as detailed in the attached document.

Last year we had to lean hard on a number of leagues to finalize their selections past the deadline. Please make this a priority for your students in the next four months.

One male and one female scholar-athlete from each league, approved by the league, will be honored with $500, awards and dinner on May 1, 2023.

• Student applications should be given to their respective athletic directors by a date the school determines.

• Athletic directors take applications to a league meeting.

• The leagues pick the top two applicants and send me their submissions.

• A scholarship committee will choose one boy and one girl to receive $1,000.
