Born and raised on a quaint peach farm in British Columbia, Ben's love for nature and cultivation was instilled in him from a young age. He spent his formative years skiing and hiking in the Okanagan, fostering a deep appreciation for the beauty of the great outdoors. This connection to nature led him to adopt a wonderful Australian Shepherd named Barley, who has become his trusted hiking companion on the East Coast Trail. Ben is also a self-proclaimed amateur coffee roaster. He has a strict morning routine that involves spending an inordinate amount of time preparing the perfect cup of coffee. When his living situation allows, Ben is passionate about growing his own food; those ambitions have been put on pause since moving to St. John’s, but Ben insists his “green thumb” is stronger than ever.
Kait is a second year MSc. student who was raised just out of St. Johns, in the warmer and sunnier town of Conception Bay South. She grew up playing sports, camping and causing havoc around her house with her four siblings and two golden labs. Kait loves to be outdoors, whether it’s a run, a swim in a pond, or simply throwing a frisbee around in a field. She is passionate about fitness and movement and has even begun training for the 2025 Ni4M Axe Throwing Tournament following her devastating loss in the semi-final during the 2024 competition. Her love for movement prompted her interest in completing the BKIN (Hons) program, and she is stoked to continue her journey as a graduate student in the School of Human Kinetics.
