Security and Privacy Concerns
AI technologies collect and store a large amount of data. Data collection is a concern for the privacy and security of student data. Schools must ensure that student data is kept private and secure. It is a challenge to ensure data protection.
If something goes wrong, educators must take responsibility and take appropriate action to correct the error. However, if educators lack the expertise to understand AI technologies fully, it is a challenge to take appropriate action.
Implementing ethical guidelines and ensuring AI technologies' ethical and responsible use is costly. This cost could be financial, but it could also be a cost of time and resources required to implement the guidelines effectively.
AI technology will continue to advance. As AI technologies evolve, continual edits and updates to ethical guidelines must occur to ensure they remain relevant and practical.
Implementing ethical guidelines can be challenging, especially when ensuring all stakeholders know and follow the guidelines. Additionally, schools may need more resources or expertise to implement guidelines effectively.
As mentioned in the developed solution, many researchers in AIED need more expertise to address the ethical challenges that arise. Therefore, creating and implementing effective and ethical guidelines is challenging.
One of the biggest challenges of using AI in education is the possibility of bias in the training data. Effectively testing and evaluating is a challenge. However, bias in the AI algorithm can lead to unequal and unjust outcomes for students.
Future research should focus on finding an appropriate means to evaluate the challenges and implications addressed. Studies should also look at the success of the integration of AI in the classroom against students' affective domain and learning success.
