This user personas are of fictional users and stakeholders in our project. The people described below are fictional in a sense, but are also informed by the real-life stakeholders of our project and were created to help inform our design. This personas are an ongoing project as we learn more about the community we are trying to support and we strive to continue to understand their point of view.
Arthur doesn't live in Uganda, but is interested in supplying ISEC to help the school with their cooking needs. He works for an NGO that funds projects in Uganda. He is in charge of getting the funds to help the school along with his organization's other projects.
Arthur has to apply for grants to get the money needed for school and communicate with groups in Uganda to build the project. He communicates with the school through text messaging is rarely able to get stakeholders on a voice call.
Arthur wants to fund he thinks is best for the school. What he thinks is best may be skewed, since his outside perspective is different from the stakeholders at the school.
David is the local contact for Arthur, and is charge of procuring the materials and labor needed to complete the project.
David is excited about helping the school with their cooking needs and making money from the opportunity.
David lives in Uganda and works on similar projects to the one for the school.
Amina works at the school, where every day she and one other cook have to feed 196 other people breakfast and lunch. She would like to cook her meals as efficiently as possible so all the children she has to care for are well fed.
Amina also has to gather firewood daily for the cooking needs of the school. She spends the monring in a small sheltered area cooking the food over the fire and is subjected to the smoke from the fire.
Rehema is charge of building a potential solution for cooking at the school. He comes from the nearby city, and has experience working with insulated wood cook stoves. The company he works for has experience building efficient cook stoves and has personally done many of them in the past.
His company is for profit, and is doing the project to make money. The company may try to implement aspects of the cookstoves that will make them money but may not be helpful or even detrimental.
Poni is a student at the school and has been there for multiple years. She enjoys eating the food that Amina cook because it allows her to focus on her studies
Emilian is one of six teachers for 188 students at the school. His days at work teaching his students often leave him tired, but he is thankful for the support he receives from his peers.
