I'm Trecia Taylor... Many of you will come to know me as Maestra Taylor (maestra is teacher in Spanish). I'm blessed to be embarking on my 8th year teaching Spanish here at Mingus! I have the honor of being the Advisor for the Hispanic Honor and Service Society. I'm also very excited to be an Advisor for the Marauder Class of 2024! This year I have taken on AP Psychology as well and look forward to exploring all kinds of fun stuff pertaining to the mind and behavior!
I studied Spanish for four years in High School and continued my study of Spanish at Northern Arizona University, where Spanish was my minor and Psychology my major. I recently completed the Secondary Education program at Rio Salado College.
My hobbies are singing, travelling, going to the creek/river and spending time with my wonderful friends and my amazing sons, Eron and Max. I love spending time outdoors and I am the singer in a local rock band. I am obsessed with otters, anything purple, Día de los Muertos, Harry Potter and Pearl Jam. I have two little dogs named Chuy and Peanut. You will probably hear me talk about all of these things a lot!
I'm so excited to start the year with my students in the classroom and I can't wait to support you along your journey!
