Calling is preferred. However if you cannot, El Monte PD will respond to text'ed 911 calls.
Remember to include your location and type of emergency in the first message because all text'ed calls go to Los Angeles County first.

Teen Talk Mobile App
Teen Talk is a free iPhone app where teens can get support for whatever they may be dealing with from a trained teen. It is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can anonymously post your issue at any time and get support from a trained teen from 6:00 to 10:00PM Pacific time.
Woebot
Meet Woebot! Your friendly self-care expert helps users with everyday stress and challenges such as symptoms of depression, anxiety, relationship problems, procrastination, loneliness, grief, addiction, pain management and more! Woebot checks-in with you every day and guides you through practical techniques based on tried and tested approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Woebot is your very own coach who chats with you and offers insights and skills to help you grow into your best self. You can chat with Woebot as much or as little as you like — they’re always available when you need it.
The Virtual Hope Box
The Virtual Hope Box (VHB) is a smartphone application designed for use by patients and their behavioral health providers as an accessory to treatment. The VHB contains simple tools to help patients with coping, relaxation, distraction, and positive thinking. Patients and providers can work together to personalize the VHB content on the patient's own smartphone according to the patient's specific needs. The patient can then use the VHB away from clinic, continuing to add or change content as needed.
A Friend Asks App
Created by The Jason Foundation. Is a smart-phone app that helps provide the information, tools and resources to help a friend (or yourself) who may be struggling with thoughts of suicide. Download the app today and encourage friends and family to do the same. Education is the key to prevention and with information like this as close as your smartphone; you could help save a life!
