We are looking for a Ph.D. student with M.S. or B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with full graduate research assistantship (GRA) to join the group in Spring 2023, who is expected to:

1. Have extensive experience and strong skills in testbed set-up, experimental instrumentation and data acquisition, demonstrating the proficiency in operating dSPACE (or NI board), oscilloscope, signal analyzer, accelerometer and other sensing devices (MUST).

2. Demonstrate the capability in using FE simulation to perform both the linear and nonlinear structural dynamic analysis, and multi-physics multi-scale analyses, e.g., fluid-structure coupled FE, thermal-structural coupled FE, and electromechanical FE. The preferred software include: Abaqus, Ansys and COMSOL (MUST).

3. Have strong programming skill using MATLAB, Python (MUST). Using other OOP packages certaintly is a PLUS.

4. Have in-depth knowledge in signal processing, machine learning, data analytics and optimization (PLUS).

5. Have relvant research experience in strucutal health monitoring, health management and prognosis, metamaterial design, and manufacturing simulation (PLUS).
