The Geoheritage Summer Internship is a two-week long experiential training program that provides opportunities for students who live in the Keweenaw Bay and Keweenaw Peninsula region to learn about reading landscapes, local history and heritage, geology, and GIS technology. The internship will explore various sites around Keweenaw Bay - the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands and waters of the Anishinaabeg; the Three Fires Confederacy of Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi peoples and their more than human relatives.

This internship is facilitated as a partnership between the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community's Natural Resources Department and Tribal Historic Preservation Office, and Michigan Tech's Great Lakes Research Center and Geospatial Research Facility.
