Our events would not be possible without the support of volunteers who fill over 50 different shifts per day!
Join us for a few hours on one day, or the entire event! There are a variety of impactful positions.
Coffee and lunch will be provided.
Exhibitors are groups that can commit to staffing a demonstration (whether it is their own or borrowed from Mind Trekkers) throughout the duration of the event. Even though personnel may change throughout the event, their overall presence and activity remain the same.
Volunteers are individually registered and assigned a role (though signing up with friends/colleagues/teammates makes the event that much more fun!). Overall participation may be limited to certain shifts, but you can still represent an organization through your apparel!
If you are excited for this event, you'd make a great volunteer! We welcome members of industry, education, community organizations, high schools (including high school students!), and others who are enthusiastic for high-energy events like this!
A Mind Trekkers event is a hybrid cross between a science fair and a carnival. It is a high-energy, upbeat atmosphere that promotes hands-on learning and interaction between volunteers and attendees. Each table will have a demonstration, and attendees will be free to move about them at their own pace. There will be music playing and Mind Trekkers will do their signature LN2 explosion throughout the day. On both days, we will welcome 1,000 middle school students.
There are a variety of volunteer needs, including performing Mind Trekkers demonstrations for students, checking in schools, exhibitors, and other volunteers, and providing attendee support. Shifts range from 2 - 4 hours.
A majority of volunteers will be performing a Mind Trekkers demonstration at the event. These demonstrations cover a variety of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts. This position is an opportunity to really engage with students and other attendees and excite them about learning in a very non-traditional, hands-on setting. Lesson plans with everything you need to know will be available in advance, and we will show you the demo works upon arrival!

No background in STEM is needed! Each demonstration comes with a lesson plan. These lesson plans include information about the concept that the demonstration is covering. It also includes instructions, tips, and any safety information needed to safely perform the demonstration. Additionally, we will have staff at the event to help you get set up before the event starts. We will be happy to answer any questions to help you feel comfortable!
