Research Mentoring
Undergraduate hands-on research experiences:
In our lab we had three MTU summer undergraduate research fellows SURF since the beginning of EOL in 2008:Â
2010 Kyle Gorkowski - developed 2 automated multi-filter samplers for electron microscopy analysis of aerosols and participated in the CARES field campaign
2011 Jordan Hagen - worked on the development of a prototype quartz-enhanced photoacoustic system for aerosol absorption measurements
2012 Stephen Stassen - working on the development of a photoacoustic system for aerosol absorption measurements
Many other talented undergraduate students are or have been working with us:
Jacob Smock (2013)
Rachael Huempfner (2013)
Arin Nelson (2011 to 2013)
Jessika West (2011-2012)
Nicholas Black (2010-2011)
Justin Wojdula (2009-2011)
Visiting students
Neila Salvadori joined our group to do research for her thesis work as a student in the Atmospheric Science group of the Civil and Environmental Engineering department of the University of Trento, Italy (2010 - 2011). She is currently a graduate student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan Tech.
