Dr Dyreson's research interests are in energy and the environment, with a focus on teaching and research practices that promote the growth a diverse workforce.
Dr Dyreson was co-founder of a Working Group on Early Career Development for Early Career Scientists in the emerging field of Multi-Sector Dynamics (MSD) through DOE. She is now the Professional Development Coordinator.

My research interests lie in renewable energy systems and system efficiency optimization (solar, wind and hydrogen), climate-energy relationship and energy equity. Climate change and energy issues are global in nature and I try to focus on global solutions as well.

Jacob Chizek, Master of Science, 2025, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. 2021 Great Lakes Research Center Student Research Grant recipient. Jacob's research focused on energy transitions for Baraga and Houghton County, Michigan. He investigated the energy and air quality impacts of home heating transitions including heat pump adoption for cold climates.
Kamila Staniszewski, Undergraduate student, Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics. 2021 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship recipient and continued research through graduation in May 2023. Kamila explored offshore wind energy for the Great Lakes.
Karoline Lenczewski, Undergraduate student, Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics. Karoline worked on solar energy monitoring and modeling in Spring 2023.
Gracie Brownlow, Undergraduate student, Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics. Gracie contributed to the solar energy monitoring on our team in Spring 2024.
