Biography

Dr. Jarvie-Eggart an environmental engineer with experience in the extractive and water/wastewater industries managing social and environmental risks through sustainability programming, compliance, and permitting. She has PE registration in Michigan. After spending a decade in industry, she returned to academics. Dr. Jarvie-Eggart is  currently empowering the next generation of engineers.

Dr. Jarvie-Eggart approaches teaching and research from a liberation pedagogy. She believes in the empowering value of education in both students and faculty and is committed to creating an inclusive campus environment for everyone. Dr. Jarvie-Eggart's research interests lie in supporting engineering students and technology adoption. She has studied technology adoption among both engineering students and faculty, including the adoption of programming languages and online learning. Dr. Jarvie-Eggart is the Director of Michigan Technological University's Da Engineering Education Research Space. In addition to her engineering education work, Dr. Jarvie-Eggart is also exploring the use of sustainable technologies for wastewater treatment. 

Dr. Jarvie-Eggart is an avid knitter, amature ukulele player, and kids’ mountain bike coach.
