Get ready for the 2025 NWTC Science & Engineering Festival event! This amazing opportunity is sure to inspire and excite your students.
Please register your school's attendance by clicking the button below. The deadline to register is November 22nd
*Due to a high influx of registrations this event has reached capacity, any new submissions for school registration will be moved to a waitlist*
Please see below for important information that will help your students get the most out of this event. Be sure to share this page with all chaperones and teachers attending so everyone has an understanding of the format of the event.
Before the event, talk to your students about the goals and format of the event with your students.
To ensure they get the most out of the experience, students will receive a scavenger hunt upon arrival. Students should complete the worksheet during the event and turn it in to the Mind Trekkers Resource Table for a prize!
Students should expect a large expo-style event, with dozens of booth to explore. Students will be free to move from demonstration to demonstration at their own pace.
The environment will be loud and fairly crowded, with music and other sensory stimuli. Please let us know if a student needs a quiet break during the event.
Make sure students know they can ask anyone in a Mind Trekkers shirt any questions. Our students love questions about science, school, or whatever, so ask away!
A couple of times throughout each session, we will be performing our liquid nitrogen explosion. Announcements will be made in advance.
When your class arrives at the event location, someone will come to your bus to check in your group and confirm your school name, grade, number of students, etc.
Students will receive colored wristbands they must put on and wear for the duration of the event.
Discuss where your students should meet you at the end of the session.
Your class will then be able to unload the bus and come into the event.
Information about departure and bus locations will be provided.
At the end of the event, students will be dismissed by wristband color 10-15 minutes prior to the end of your session.
Local media and others affiliated with the event may capture video footage or photographs at the event and share them.
If you or a student does not have consent to be featured in media, please direct them to the Mind Trekkers Resource Table upon arrival for an additional wristband whose color will alert others to not include them in their media coverage.
Please be aware there are possible allergens present at our event. Please let us know if there are students who have severe allergies immediately.
Mind Trekkers and other exhibitor demonstrations use a variety of materials and supplies. For example, our LN2 ice cream is made with syrup that may have been manufactured in facilities that also produce nuts. Additionally, we have demonstrations that use balloons and other sources of latex. While we want all students to have a safe and fun experience, these events are designed for crowds and not all allergens may be identified in advance.
If you or your students are in need of assistance during the event, find an event staff member (grey shirt) or come to the Mind Trekkers Resource Table.
