Important Transportation Update for 2026-2027
As transportation costs continue to rise, Mount Saint Charles is evaluating whether the RI and MA bus routes that we contract with Valley Transportation for can continue into the 2026-2027 school year. Rather than eliminate transportation altogether, Mount is exploring a model that would allow the two Mount buses (RI and MA) to continue if enough families register and are willing to participate in a bus pass model.
Transportation on these buses would be limited to students who purchase a semester or annual bus pass, and occasional ridership would no longer be available. At this time, Mount anticipates costs would be approximately $1,000 per semester, per rider - averaging roughly $15 per school day.
We understand that this represents a significant change for many families, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Our hope is that this approach will allow Mount to continue offering transportation services for the families who rely on them each day.
State/town transportation routes for Burrillville, Cumberland, North Smithfield, or Woonsocket will not be impacted by this change. .PLEASE FILL OUT THIS INTEREST FORM NO LATER THAN JUNE 15 to allow pricing and route decisions to be made by July 1st.
Car pools are probably the most economical method of transportation. Please complete the form below if you wish to be included in the list of carpooling families. The names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses will be shared over the summer with all families who have completed the form.
