Mission Statement

The MTEA Equity Committee will ensure that the internal practices and the actions of its local association, the Montgomery Township Education Association (MTEA), adhere to the principles of anti-racism.*

*Anti-Racist Principles


*Principle 1 (P1): Our committee will design and implement new and effective anti-racist methods to ensure that every MTEA member is seen, heard and represented equally and fairly. (Internal)

*Principle 2 (P2): When the need arises, our committee will consult with those members of the MTEA having voting power and/or having involvement in decision making (building and district) to provide insight and guidance in serving and protecting our BIPOC, LGBTQ+, female members, members with disabilities, members of age, and members’ religious beliefs/cultural practices. (Internal)

*Principle 3 (P3): Our committee will establish and support an ongoing relationship with students (current and alumni), families, administration (building and district), community members, community leaders, and organizations to help promote racial equity, diversity, and inclusivity across the Montgomery Township School District. (External)
