All preschool thru 2nd grade students engage in music making throughout the school year. Students participate in a music class for 40 minutes every 6- day cycle. Kindergartners engage in music class once every 6-day cycle through the year and an additional 15 cycles through half the year. Music instruction is designed to form the child's foundation in music, begin sequential development of music literacy, promote an appreciation for music, and support each child's strengths as a an enthusiatic and caring learner, through active music making. Music activities include songs of various styles, from the American folk song tradition and around the world.
