All preschool thru second grade students engage in music making and learning with their certified music teacher for at least 40 minutes each 6- day cycle throughout the school year. Preschool and Second graders meet for music once every 6-day cycle. Kindergarteners engage in music class twice every 6-day cycle . First graders join in music class once every 6-day cycle and an additional 15 music classes over half of the school year. Music instruction is designed to form the child's foundation in music, develop musical sensibilities, begin sequential development of music literacy, promote an appreciation for music, and support each child's strengths as a an enthusiastic and caring learner through active music making. Music activities include songs of various styles, from the American folk song tradition and around the world.
