Step 1: Thoroughly read and complete the 2021/2022 Student Council Election application.
Step 2: 2021/2022 Student Council Election applications are due by 2:07 PM on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021. The application, speech, AND recorded video (adhering to the 25 second time limit) are due to BOTH Ms. Kotok AND Mr. Lugo in a SINGLE email (Documents and videos can be shared with Ms. Kotok and Mr. Lugo via Google Drive and linked in the email you send). Anyone who has not completed the self-nomination form by 2:07 PM on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021 not be permitted to run for office.
Step 3: Students will receive an email notification stating that we have received their Student Council Election application form. Applications will then be reviewed to ensure that all necessary information is included. We reserve the right to deny entry to the election if a student has had previous disciplinary infractions that would not be deemed acceptable for the role.
Campaigning and Voting Process
Step 4: Beginning on Monday, June 7th, 2021, students who have submitted all the required materials on time will have their submitted speeches shared with ALL 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. Students will be able to access video speeches in the same Google Form that will be used to cast their votes.
Step 5: Voting will take place throughout the week of Monday, June 7th, 2021 through the end of the day (11:59pm) on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021. Voting will be done online through Google Forms. Students will be limited to one vote and their email address will be tracked and recorded to ensure that the election is fair. ANY ATTEMPT TO TAMPER OR INFLUENCE THE VOTING PROCESS IN A MANNER THAT IS DEEMED DISHONEST, DISRESPECTFUL, OR HARMFUL, WILL RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS.
Step 6: Winners will be announced on Thursday, June 10th, 2021.
