Math 8
In Math 8 we use the addresses all of the Math 8 content and instruction of the 2023 NJ State Learning Standards. The focus of this course is on the prerequisite skills of algebra, including expanding the knowledge of the number system, working with irrational and rational numbers, exploring the connection between proportional relationships, lines, and linear equations, introducing students to functional notation, solving real-world problems requiring the understanding and application of the Pythagorean Theorem and volume formulas, and investigating patterns within sets of data.
