Please check your email on a daily basis as this is my main avenue of communication in attempts to save paper. My emails will include homework updates, monthly newsletters, classroom needs, classroom party information, volunteer opportunities, etc. Please make sure I have all your family’s emails that you want notified.
Besides keeping an eye out for my emails, please read the weekly Thursday Folder that is sent out from the district for other important information.
Everyday, your child's "take home" folder will come home in his or her backpack. There may not always be something in it, but this serves as a way to send information back and forth between school and home. Please check this folder nightly, empty it, and send the folder back to school everyday.
Our wing in the school is NOT air conditioned. Please dress your child accordingly. It takes the school a while to cool down once it is hot.
Scholastic Book orders will go home periodically – when you order from me, our classroom gets free books! You can order online at anytime using our classroom code:
H44RW website: https://orders.scholastic.com/H44RW
I also have a wish list on Amazon where I am asking for specific donations for our classroom. Any donation is appreciated!!! Please visit the following link:
PARENT PICK UP: If your child will be "parent pick up" at the end of the day you MUST download the PikMyKid app. Any transportation mode on this app must be made no later than 3:15pm. Also, please make sure the person picking up your child is listed under their Emergency Contacts that are on Infinite Campus.
Weather permitting, we go out for recess in the morning, before lunch, and in the afternoon. Please send your child to school dressed appropriately for the weather and in clothing that he/she can put on independently. Zipping, tying, and buttoning need to be practiced at home as it is expected that these skills are acquired at the beginning of kindergarten. Your child should be capable of putting on his/her own snow pants, boots, coat, hat and mittens in the winter. We go outside when it is 0 degrees and above. Your help with teaching these skills at home is greatly appreciated! Please LABEL ALL of your child’s clothing.
Our classroom is a NUT FREE ZONE. We will have a snack break. Please send something small, healthy, and easy to eat. Please be sure to include eating utensils if their snack requires it.
Feel free to bring in birthday treats! All treats must be prepackaged individually by a store or company. Also, it is a school policy that we do NOT hand out personal birthday party invitations. You will need to use the school directory to send out invitations outside of school hours.
Please feel free to print this "Dear Teacher" form out and send it to me anytime!
