Call for Proposals to Host 2022 True North Science Boot Camp



Background:


The True North Science Boot Camp (TNSBC) is an annual professional development program for librarians. TNSBC activities span three days and feature educational presentations delivered by scientists and STEM librarians. The event provides opportunities for librarians to learn more about science and the research process, discuss best practices, and share ideas and experiences in an intimate atmosphere.


Timeline:

  • Proposals to host TNSBC 2022 should be emailed to tnsbootcamp@gmail.com by Monday, June 7, 2021

  • The successful host will be contacted by Friday, June 11, 2021


Required for the proposal:

  • Description of the theme (e.g. undergraduate STEM research) or topics (e.g., chemistry, neuroscience, etc.) being proposed. You are not required to supply a detailed final program; an outline with some proposed sessions and speakers would suffice.

  • Proposed dates for the event.

  • Statement of institutional commitment (i.e., UL/AUL statement of support).

  • Brief budget outline with tentative registration fees.

  • Description of optional activities being proposed.

  • Dates being proposed.

  • Options for accommodations with an estimated cost, if possible.

  • Decisions about the TNSBC 2022 will be made by the outgoing TNSBC 2021 Planning Committee.
