Josh is an Assistant Professor of Education at MRU and specializes in Indigenous Led Land Based Learning. He is a member of the Métis Nation of Alberta and his ancestors trace back to the historic Métis community in the Red River Valley and to European Settler communities.
There are three assignments in the course that will be completed within the 5 days of the course, they are as follows:
1) Wâhkôhtowin (Inter-relationality): a written or verbal self reflection you will reflect on how you have sought to enact Wâhkôhtowin
2) Kahpeekskwahno (we will talk): we will engage in story cirlces throughout our journey. You will self assess your contributions to our circle.
3) Aen Nistwayr (Tell a Story): you will select from photos you take throughout our journey to compose a story of your land based learning experience.
There is no text book for the course. Students will be provided with selected readings via d2l.
