Kris Hans MBA

Kris is an ideas generator capable of turning dreams into reality and truly a social entrepreneur. He continues to undertake diverse roles and responsibilities that bring his skills and experience to serve Calgary’s many communities — a testament to the value that he places on civic participation and social enterprise.


Currently, Kris is Co-Founder and Strategist at Market Grade, an interdisciplinary consultancy focused on marketing, design, innovation, and strategy. Kris teaches Business Management, Strategic Planning and Economics for Business at the University of Calgary and Business Communications at Mount Royal University. In the past, he has also taught Entrepreneurship and Marketing and served as the first-ever Entrepreneur in Residence at W21C in the O’Brien Institute of Public Health, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. Kris continues to work with students and start-up ventures to help grow their businesses and diversify the Alberta economy.

Thomas P. Keenan BA MSc MA, Ed.D, I.S.P., FCIPS

Tom is a popular professor of Environmental Design and Computer Science at the University of Calgary, a Fellow of the Canadian Information Processing Society and a Research Fellow of the Canadian Global Affairs Institute and the Centre for Military, Security and Strategic Studies. He taught Canada’s first computer crime course, in 1974, and was involved in drafting the country’s inaugural computer crime legislation. He has been an expert witness in civil and criminal cases including one involving claimed “Internet defamation”.

In his latest book Technocreep (www.technocreep.com) he dissects how technology is becoming creepy in hidden ways that are difficult for most people to understand. It has appeared in the top ten on Amazon.ca in categories including Civil Rights and Liberties, Technology & Society, and Social Aspects of Technology. One of the world’s top computer security experts, Tom appears frequently in the media on programs including Canada AM, The National and Alberta Primetime.

Sgt Mike Lalande is 15 year member of the Calgary Police Service. Sgt Lalande presently oversees the operations of the Cybercrime Support Team which assists all areas of the police service with complex cyber related investigations. These investigations include ransomware attacks, phishing scams, malware, online sales of illicit drugs, identify theft, sharing of intimate images and fraud. Sgt Lalande is also active in educating investigators within the Calgary Police Service on the basics of cybercrime investigations and currently lectures on Cryptocurrencies. The Cybercrime Support Team for the Calgary Police Service has proven to be an innovative approach to responding to cybercrime and it continually evolves to meet the needs of the service and community.

Jason Maynard

Jason is a Cybersecurity professional providing consulting services to a global sales organization, VARs providing security solutions and services to customers, and directly to customers in all verticals. In this capacity Jason provides architectural, design, and implementation recommendations to solve some of the most complex security problems in today's global threat landscape. He has extensive experience in deploying security technologies into all verticals including the service provider space. Jason not only has real world experience with a variety of technologies but also holds over 70+ designations across a variety of products and technologies including the CCIE designation.

Ilija Stankovski

Ilija is a seasoned professional with 20 years of experience in the Information Technology industry. With primary focus on Information Security and Enterprise Architecture, Ilija is involved with wide range of companies across different verticals in both North America and Europe. Having provided services to organizations such as The United Nations, Ford Motor Company, McDonalds Corporation, BBVA Bancomer, EnCana, Husky Energy and others, Ilija now leads WBM Technologies’ security practice with the mission to provide pragmatic approach to Information Security to all of WBM’s Western Canada clients.

When not working, Ilija can be found spending copious amounts of time sitting on a bicycle unless it is winter, in which case he spends time sitting on a chair lift in between runs.
