Co-op is an optional program that allows Computer Science students to alternate study terms with work terms and graduate with up to 12-months of relevant paid work experience.
Students need to apply and be accepted into MRU’s Computer Science Co-op program. Students can apply to Co-op in their 1st, 2nd or 3rd year at MRU. The application period opens mid-February each year and will remain open until the program is full. Click here for application instructions and admission requirements.
MRU’s Co-op program is comprised of 4 courses:
COOP 0001: You learn how to write a professional resume and cover letter, how to conduct an effective job search and develop and practice your interviewing and networking skills.
The learning does not stop once you secure a work term. You Co-op work terms COOP 0002, 0003, 0004 all have work term assignments are designed to develop you as a professional and leave you with a career action plan once you graduate from MRU.
If you complete all the 4 COOP courses you will receive a Co-op Designation. The Co-op designation is an achievement that goes on both your degree parchment and transcripts
