Moorestown Township Public Schools strives to provide the best education and opportunities for all students. Now, working alongside our community, we will develop a three-year strategic plan for Moorestown schools to continue building on our legacy of success.
MTPS’s last strategic plan, which was implemented in 2019, prioritized development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills; social and emotional learning; and communication among internal and external audiences.
The input we gather through sessions and surveys during the strategic planning process will help determine MTPS’s approach to teaching, learning and leading the school district. Specific areas of focus will include academic programs, curriculum, community engagement, budget priorities, and the role of technology in our schools. The plan will serve as a blueprint to guide the actions and decisions to maintain and, in some cases, enhance educational excellence.
Community members will be invited to take part in interactive in-person sessions that elicit 100% participant engagement and provide complete transparency in the collection, analysis and reporting of input data.
We also will gather feedback through an online survey, which will invite respondents to share thoughts about what Moorestown schools do well and ways the district could improve and grow.
The projects approved in the district’s recent bond referendum will reshape our buildings. The strategic plan will form our priorities and include goals and action steps to ensure we make the most of our new spaces.
We know the community shares our pride in Moorestown schools. Now we are asking families, faculty and neighbors to play a role in mapping out the district’s future.
Share your opinions and hear what others are thinking at one of three in-person sessions.
The lively, rotating-conversation format means no one will be left on the sidelines. An education consultant with expertise in strategic planning will guide participants in identifying areas of focus and potential next steps.

All community members are encouraged to complete an online survey that asks about the district’s strengths and challenges, and what we should prioritize in the near future.
Students are important stakeholders and will be included in the strategic planning process. They will be asked to share their thoughts on ways to create a sense of belonging in their school and how they like to learn.
We expect these simple questions to produce powerful insights.
The bond referendum specifically addressed our facility needs. We will soon begin work on voter-approved renovations and expansions to make our buildings more efficient and effective places to learn.
The strategic plan will guide the district’s approach to teaching, learning and leading over the next three years. Topics of focus will include academic programs, curriculum, community engagement, budget priorities, and the role of technology in our schools.
The strategic plan will build on our momentum as a community by seeking stakeholder input about priorities as we determine how to maintain and enhance the Moorestown school experience. As part of the planning process, we will explore how to maximize the new and improved spaces being constructed through the referendum.
A strategic planning process revolves around gathering input from all stakeholders to help determine the district’s next steps.
At Moorestown Township Public Schools, the community will participate through surveys and interactive in-person sessions, led by an education consultant. The discussions and priorities that emerge as part of this process will be channeled into a three-year strategic plan.
The finalized plan, with goals and actions, will be shared with the community.
A strategic plan provides crucial guidance for the complex work of running a school district.
The goals and recommended action steps will provide structure yet allow for flexibility as new needs and opportunities arise.
The plan will support consistency across curricular planning and school operations, uphold standards and drive innovation.
Most importantly, the strategic plan will connect our actions as a district to the priorities we identified together as a community.
The online survey will ask respondents to share their perspectives on the district’s strengths and challenges, and what we should prioritize over the next three years.
Students in grades 3 to 12 will be asked two simple questions that are designed to make them think: They will be asked what creates a sense of belonging in school, and how they like to learn. The student's responses provide a valuable perspective that will contribute to the strategic plan.
The community feedback provided through the survey and in-person sessions will be used to develop a three-year strategic plan with goals and recommended action steps.
The plan will be shared, but so will the process: We will provide complete transparency in the collection, analysis and reporting of input data.
