Brookline U.P. Church needs some help with two projects. The Food Pantry is held the second Saturday of every month. Assistance is needed to carry the bags of groceries to the cars of the elderly. This project starts at 9:00 am and ends at 11:00 am. Their After School Program could also use some assistance. The students are from upper elementary and Middle School grades. Instride with Therapeutic Riding is a nonprofit group that teaches kids and young adults with disabilities how to ride a horse. Due to COVID-19 protocols, The Mt. Lebanon Public Library will not be accepting in-person volunteers until January of 2022. Currently, all of their programming is virtual. However, you can still fill out their volunteer form for the future. There are many ways in which you can contribute.
Examples include:
Helping children's staff with storytime craft preparation
Providing regular book reviews or book lists for YA novels, non-fiction, graphic novels, and/or manga.
Planning and presenting programs for peer (high school) or near-peer (middle school) audiences, with assistance of library staff.
Taking a leadership role in teen book clubs
Joining the Teen Volunteer Board, a small-group monthly dinnertime meet-up, which will provide event suggestions and evaluate the planned events, as well as suggesting book and AV purchases for the YA collection
