Scientific Machining

The machine shop in Shattuck G19 and its resident machinist, Thomas Liimatainen, are available to support research and teaching work in all departments. The shop is fully equipped with a variety of machine tools, and each year Rob Higley teaches a course that trains students on their use. For students interested in making things, this is an important resource in addition to the Fimbel Maker & Innovation Lab.
