When things go wrong:
Get help from peers
One of my peers used Gemini to see where my error was. We used that answer to get the code working again. The AI was helpful to give us an idea of what might be going wrong.
Get help from TA
Get help from teacher
Get as many possible patterns as wanted
Narrow down the amount of patterns to 5-10.
Narrow it down to 2-3
Then pick one in the spur of the moment
Get ideas on what to embroider on (Ex. Jacket, backpack, mini backpack, tote bag, hat, etc)
Look at amazon to see what can arrive in time (ie. Nothing)
Look at the items in the dorm to see what is available that can be embroidered on
Find old Mount Holyoke tote from a Friends and Family weekend from years prior in the bag of bags
Use that bag
Ask Fimble staff to help learning the embroidering machine
Use Fimble staff's knowlege to embroider a scrap piece of fabric because that was what was already loaded onto the embrodery hoops in the machine
Once the machine has started, set it and forget it for a few hours
Get the bag
Iron it because it was not stored properly and is all wrinkled
Thread the sewing machine
Ask Fimble staff if you need help with this step
Measure 2 in out from the design edge of the patch. DO NOT CUT THE EXTRA FABRIC. It makes it harder to sew the edges. I learned that lesson the hard way
Pin the top and sides of the patch to make a clean edge
Sew the edges
Pin the patch to the bag leaving the top side of the patch open to create a pocket
Sew the patch to the bag (ENSURING THE BAG IS OPEN AND YOU ARE NOT SEWING THE BAG CLOSED). Make sure you are not sewing the top of the pocket closed
