I think about emotional intelligence a lot in my relationships, but not as much as it relates to work or school. I appreciate that the video mentioned how naming your emotions and working through them can be an effective tool when working in groups. As students, I think we are often expected to know how to work in groups well, which isn't always the case. It's easy to forget that managing workload isn't the only concern in group work; facilitating learning also involves establishing healthy communication. Especially under time constraints, practicing emotional intelligence may be swept aside in favor of getting work done, but choosing to self-regulate might end up being more productive in the long run.
