What is GameOn!?
This free, two-week mathematical enrichment program at Northampton High School will enable high school students to pursue higher mathematics through the context of complex board games. We will learn concepts in mathematical modeling, probability theory, network theory and more and apply these concepts to the games we are playing as well as to real-world systems. Activities will include:
Modeling capital development in the game Settlers of Catan with exponential models
Finding an optimal spanning network in Ticket to Ride
Developing computable strategies for Dominion
What games will we play?

Eligibility:
You must be entering grades 9-12.
This program will be in-person at Northampton High School. Students should arrive each day by 9:00am and be able to attend the entirety of the program. If you are interested but cannot be present every day, please contact the program director.
No prior experience with board games is required. We are looking for students who are eager to learn new math concepts and see how they can be applied to game play and the real world!
Applications will be accepted until the program is full.
