If you're considering asking for a letter of recommendation, you're likely preparing for an important opportunity - graduate school, scholarships, internships, or jobs. I am honored to help you make this process smooth and successful!
I am if I have taught you, preferably in an upper-level class, or supervised your research or projects through independent study or summer research experience. Think about whether you actively participated in class, performed well academically, or had meaningful interactions with me.
Timing is critical: Please reach out at least 3-4 weeks before your deadline. A lot of opportunities have overlapping application seasons, so you may not be the only one needing a letter, and I would appreciate to have enough time to write you a worthy letter. Last-minute requests are strongly discouraged and may not be accepted.
In your email, please include:
The purpose of the recommendation (what you're applying to and why me)
The deadline
Any specific items that you would like my letter to highlight for you
Supporting materials:
Resume or CV
List of programs/opportunities you're applying to (with links and deadlines)
Any relevant papers, projects, or transcripts
