Foundation Stage Reception children have been learning to compare mass by weighing Numicon and other objects. They had lots of fun exploring the balancing scales and talking about what they could see, using wonderful vocabulary.
Key Stage One This week in KS1, we have enjoyed comparing our old school to our current school in history - the children have been so intrigued by what school life used to be like, but we are so glad that it has changed! In art, we are enjoying being creative, manipulating paper from 2D to 3D to create bird sculptures. We've continued our journey of writing based on the Gingerbread Man and Where the Wild Things Are. We can't wait to show you our final piece of writing! In science, we've explored the five senses - the lemons tasted so bitter! Can you explore the five senses at home?
Lower Key Stage Two In Year 3 and 4 this week, the children have been diving into an exciting range of subjects! In computing, they’ve been learning to code using Scratch, creating their own sprites while developing their problem-solving and logical thinking skills. In maths, we’ve been wowed by the enthusiasm and determination the children are showing to complete their times tables and achieve their certificates – keep it up everyone! In science, the children have been exploring the fascinating world of skeletons, investigating both exoskeletons and endoskeletons, and discovering how these structures support different animals. Meanwhile, in history, the class has been learning about the powerful warrior Queen Boudicca, uncovering her story and her role in the fight for freedom against the Roman Empire. It's been an action-packed and educational term so far!
Upper Key Stage Two We’ve had a fantastic week in UKS2! In English, we’ve been delving into our model text Smaug, sparking curiosity with thoughtful questions and insightful predictions about the author’s intent. We’re excited to channel this into writing our own action-packed, suspense-filled stories soon! In maths, Year 6 have continued to shine with their enthusiasm and growing confidence in tackling algebra—well done! Science lessons have been fascinating as we explored how diet, exercise, drugs, and lifestyle choices impact our bodies. Meanwhile, history has taken us back in time as we uncovered the vital role of the River Nile in Ancient Egyptian life. We’ve also loved selecting and discovering Mrs. Duggin's mystery books—perfect for curling up with a good read.
It’s been a brilliant week, and we’re looking forward to more learning adventures ahead!

Usborne Book Fair Wednesday 22nd January 2025
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and supported our school book fair! Your enthusiasm and participation made the event a huge success. It was wonderful to see so many of you exploring new stories, sharing your favourite books, and fostering a love of reading.
Your support not only helps promote reading but also directly benefits our school with 60% of sales coming back to us in free books. We are grateful for your contribution to creating a thriving reading culture within our community.
Thank you once again for making the book fair a memorable event!
If you would like to gift a book to school for a special occasion or 'just because', please see our Amazon Wishlist for some ideas. All books donated are marked with a special 'gifted by...' message and added to our library.
We are excited to inform you that a new sign-in system has been implemented in the main office to enhance safeguarding and streamline visitor management.
When visiting the school, all parents, carers and visitors will now be required to check in electronically using the system. This process is quick and ensures we maintain a safe and organised environment for our students and staff.
If you are checking in a late pupil or returning to school after an appointment, you will need to click students at the top of the screen and sign in your child.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we adopt this improvement.
