End of Year
It's gone by in a flash and we are at the end of the academic year. It's time to say our final farewells to our lovely Year 6 pupils and to some of our families who have been with us for many years. We wish you all a lifetime of happiness and we hope you achieve everything you set your mind to. Thank you all of the memories you have left with us and thank you to our families for choosing us, we are honoured to have played a part in your child's journey. Please give us a call if you need us in the future, we are always here to help, our care for your children doesn't end today.
Thank you to all everyone who has volunteered, made donations, given up their time to inspire our pupils, turned up to all of the wonderful events throughout the year and those of you that have spread kindness. We wouldn't be the school that we are without our community and for this, and so much more, we thank you!
To the staff and governors, thank you for the best year. Your support and hard work is appreciated more than you will ever know. Your passion and commitment are infectious, thank you for those special moments! I wish you a wonderful summer with your families and hope you get the rest and relaxation you deserve.
To our children, we are so very proud of you! Have the best summer! Be happy, stay safe and have fun. We can't wait to see you all in September and hear all about it.
Happy holidays everyone!
19 pupils have achieved 100% attendance this academic year. What an achievement! We know pupils can't help being ill but not having a single day off school is a huge achievement and deserves celebrating. Well done to these little ones.....
Last years whole school attendance figure was 95.15%
Current whole school attendance is 95.33%
Please find a reminder about school uniform in preparation for the September uniform shop:
• Children are expected to wear school uniform Monday to Friday.
• Class teachers will provide parents with PE days for each term, and it is expected that PE kit is worn on those days of the week.
• If your child has a sporting after school club and it is not their PE day, this should be brought in a bag for them to change into.
Our school uniform consists of the following:
• White shirt or polo shirt (with or without school logo)
• Emerald green sweatshirt or cardigan (with or without school logo)
• Black trousers, skirt or pinafore dress
• Black cotton shorts or green gingham dress for the summer months
• Black socks or tights
• Black (or mostly black) flat-soled shoes/trainers are encouraged so pupils can be as active as possible at breaktimes. Shoe laces must be black.
• Book bag with logo in KS1, optional in KS2
PE Kit
• Green T-shirt (with or without logo)
• Black shorts
• Black (or mostly black) trainers. Laces must be black.
• Black or mostly black tracksuit for use during winter months (no hoodies)
For safety reasons, no jewellery of any kind is to be worn during PE sessions.
Our book fair sold over £1400 worth of books on Monday. This means the school has been rewarded with £771 to spend on books for the children. The staff are busy creating wish lists to add to our reading for pleasure books that come home each week. Watch this space!
Thank you to everyone that came along to support our love of reading at Metheringham.
What a disco! A huge thank you to FOMS for their commitment to fundraising for our children this year. They have gone above and beyond and we really couldn't achieve what we do without them.
This week, they have sourced their own freezer to store at school which will make events easier to run. Thank you to Kelly for this donation.
This week, FOMS have kindly donated money to school so we can install some 'Buddy Benches' over the summer. This was a request made by the pupils for somewhere to sit with their friends, and FOMS made it happen!
What a team! THANK YOU!
Your child has brought home a new Seesaw code for their new class. Teachers will be logging off for the summer and will archive their current class in September. You will be able to download your child's journal once the class has been archived.
If you need to contact the school over the summer, please do so my emailing enquiries@metheringham.lincs.sch.uk and someone will get back to you when school reopens.
