Foundation Stage
Children in Reception have been learning about Christian churches in RE and creating their own church structures.
Key Stage One
This week in KS1, we have enjoyed singing a selection of lovely summer songs and have been developing our musical skills by beginning to explore how to create our own digital music. We have also loved our first swimming lesson, showing great enthusiasm and confidence in the water. In PE, the children have enjoyed learning and practising tennis skills, developing their coordination, control and teamwork through a range of fun activities and games. Another highlight of the week was a visit from a Humanist speaker, who shared interesting ideas and helped us learn about different beliefs and values. As part of our wellbeing focus, we have continued to strengthen our connections with one another through activities that encourage kindness, friendship and positive relationships. What a wonderful week!
Lower Key Stage Two
Another busy week in LKS2! We have loved continuing to explore the poem A Magic Box and have even created our own 3D boxes to accompany and hold our precious published poems next week. It has been wonderful to see the children's creativity and imagination shine through.
In Maths, we have continued our work on decimals. Although this has been a challenging concept to grasp, the children have shown great determination and resilience, working hard to develop their understanding.
Our tennis lessons have been brilliant fun, and we can now use both forehand and backhand grips to serve the ball to our partners. Mr Harper has been particularly impressed with the progress and enthusiasm shown by the children.
Upper Key Stage Two
This week, we started our swimming lessons! The children have loved using the pool noodles and having the chance to swim in the deep end. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow in the water as they practise new skills and challenge themselves.
The children who attended the Lincolnshire Show gave a fantastic presentation all about growing resilience. The judges were blown away by their confidence and knowledge, and the children had the best time! They showed excellent curiosity, asking lots of questions and demonstrating a keen interest in Lincolnshire farming. They represented the school brilliantly!
Some of our Year 5 pupils had the opportunity to compete in the St George's Academy Inter-School Mathematics Competition. They gave their all in four rounds of fun maths challenges, including a bonus round where they could earn extra points. The children demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and problem-solving skills throughout the event. You all did amazingly well, and we are incredibly proud of you!
In RE, we have been learning about people who inspire humanism. We have particularly enjoyed learning about Albert Einstein and discussing how his ideas and achievements have inspired people around the world.
37 pupils have maintained 100% attendance so far this academic year.

If you would like to gift a book to school for a special occasion or 'just because', please see our Amazon Wishlist for some ideas. All books donated are marked with a special 'gifted by...' message and added to our library.
The FOMS Summer Disco on Thursday 16th July 2026, is now available to book on Parent Pay. Year 6 children have an earlier arrival time so Mrs Duggin can capture some leavers photos before the main event.
All tickets are £2.50 and are only available on Parent Pay. The deadline for ticket ordering is Tuesday 14th July.
Swimming for all year groups continues next week.
You are welcome to attend our summer garden party on Thursday 25th June 2026.
Parents can collect children from classrooms at 3:00 to attend the event, which will be held on the school field and KS2 playground.
There will be a BBQ, entertainment from groups of children on the main stage, year 6 garden games, stalls, a bouncy castle and much more.
All profits made on the day will go towards playground equipment for both playgrounds.
Bring a chair or a picnic blanket and enjoy the fun.
This is a cash only event.
Any children at Premier Education will need to be collected by parents as normal.
Request for Voulunteers
We are still looking for volunteers for the Garden Party on Thursday, the weather looks glorious and we are looking forward to welcoming all the children to enjoy the BBQ, Ice creams and other activities. If you can spare 30 minutes or an hour to volunteer on a FOMS stall please contact the school.
This week, members of our Eco-Committee enjoyed an exciting visit to Metheringham Depot, where they learned all about recycling and waste management. The children discovered what happens to our rubbish once it is collected, how recyclable materials are sorted, and why it is so important to reduce, reuse and recycle. They asked thoughtful questions and gained a deeper understanding of the journey our waste takes after it leaves our homes and school. It was a fascinating and informative experience that has inspired them to continue promoting environmental responsibility within our school community.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 pupils, who represented our school at the Lincolnshire Show Schools’ Challenge today. Their project, Growing Resilience, focused on the creation of a well-being garden in school, designed to support pupils’ mental health and emotional well-being. The children confidently presented their project to the judges, sharing the journey of planning, developing and maintaining the garden. Their hard work, teamwork and enthusiasm were recognised with a Highly Commended award in the Large School category. It was a fantastic event and a wonderful opportunity for the children to showcase their achievements. Well done, Year 4 – you have done yourselves and our school proud!
This year, we took an EYFS project to the School Challenge at The Lincolnshire Show. A group of our EYFS pupils presented the challenge on behalf of the whole cohort. They placed as highly commended in their category. This is what they had to say about the day:
The Lincolnshire show was amazing! I really enjoyed seeing the animals and my favourite was the big pig. It was soft and a pretty colour. Richard told us all about the animals on our Livestock tour; he is a farmer. At the BBC Radio Lincolnshire stand, we got to meet a Dalek. At lunchtime, we saw a Shetland Pony race in the main arena. By the end of the day, we were exhausted. I was so so tired.
