Foundation Stage Children in Foundation Stage have been learning about the importance of exercise as part of their PSHE topic. They enjoyed creating their own assault courses outside and developing their gross motor skills.
Key Stage One This week, KS1 have been inspired by Henri Matisse, creating artwork by “painting with scissors” and exploring complementary colours. In PE, the children have enjoyed learning and playing rounders, building teamwork and coordination while having lots of fun. In History, we have begun learning about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. The children have been fascinated by their stories and are beginning to understand the importance of courage and helping others. Our wellbeing focus this term is “Notice,” which we have been exploring through our spring walk and in Science, encouraging curiosity and an appreciation for nature. What a fantastic week!
Lower Key Stage Two What a wonderful week of focus, friendship, fractions and fun in Years 3 and 4! In maths, we have been exploring equivalent fractions, improper fractions and mixed numbers. We have used paper folding, fraction cubes and ICT to explore multiple representations for a super understanding. We continue our history learning about WW2, and the links to Lincolnshire, in preparation for our upcoming visit to the International Bomber Command Centre. We were thrilled to learn that one of our pupil's family members has their very own Lancaster Bomber - Just Jane. She has offered to come and speak to us and we can't wait to 'ask the expert'. Our Year 4 pupils have been busy planting, growing and nurturing their herb plants for the sensory garden. They have written a song to perform at the Lincolnshire Show and loved learning to sing with energy. In English we enjoyed getting into character and exploring characters motives and behaviours. Well done to everyone.
Upper Key Stage Two
This week in UKS2 has been packed with excitement and enthusiasm for learning! In English, we’ve been enjoying short burst writing inspired by our new text The Catch. The children have loved learning the actions and really bringing the text to life as they internalise it.
Year 6 have been working incredibly hard, continuing their revision and showing great determination as they prepare for their SATs - we’re very proud of their effort and focus.
Our space topic is in full swing, and we’ve been fascinated by learning how the rotation of the Earth affects our daily lives. The children have shown great curiosity and asked some fantastic questions.
To top it all off, we were lucky enough to visit Gibraltar Point for a school trip. We explored salt marshes, studied geographical features, and had a wonderful time investigating the beach environment.
What a fantastic week it has been in UKS2!

You are invited to wear something red alongside your school uniform on Friday 8th May. This is to celebrate the mighty imps being promoted! This is a special time for lots of our Lincoln City supporters and a huge achievement for the city of Lincoln.
Please remember a sun hat and to apply sun cream in the morning when the weather is warmer. A water bottle is also essential to keep your child hydrated.
