Welcome back to Term 5!
I hope you all had a restful break and are ready for another exciting half term ahead. We are delighted to welcome everyone back to school for what promises to be a busy and enjoyable few weeks.
There is lots to look forward to this term, including trips, sporting events and our much-anticipated Sports Day. We look forward to seeing many families there to support the children.
For our Year 6 pupils, SATs Week will soon be here. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and know they will do their very best.
We look forward to sharing many successes and celebrations with you this term.

Foundation Stage A special visitor came into the Reception class. Can you guess who it is? The children had lots of fun asking him questions about the big bad Wolf.
Key Stage One KS1 have enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting for minibeasts, creating tally charts and taking photographs of them in their microhabitats during Science. In English we are learning how to write our own set of instructions, inspired by our fun and creative model text on how to make a crazy cake. We are so happy to be back!
Lower Key Stage Two Lower Key Stage 2 have had an amazing start back at school! We kicked off our new English topic with an intriguing mystery package that appeared in our classrooms. The children have been full of curiosity, asking: What are these objects? Where did they come from? What are they for?
In PE, we’ve begun practising for Sports Day and have made the most of the beautiful sunshine. In History, we started learning about World War II and explored why Lincolnshire is known as the “Bomber County.” We’re excited to continue this topic and are really looking forward to our trip at the end of term.
In PSHE, we began with a wellbeing lesson focused on ‘moving’—and we certainly did plenty of that!
All this in just a few days… we can’t wait to see what the rest of the term has in store!
Upper Key Stage Two
Welcome back! We’ve had a gentle and positive start to the summer term, with children happily reconnecting with friends and settling back into routines. They have particularly enjoyed our wellbeing lessons, focusing on noticing ourselves and others. Year 6 are now on their final push towards SATs, and we are very proud of their efforts. We are excited to start the brand new history unit on Ancient Benin and our Earth and Space unit in science. Thank you for your continued support with home reading and homework—these daily habits make a real difference! For Year 6 especially, time on Maths.co.uk and Ed Shed will help them feel confident and ready to succeed in the coming weeks.
The Eagles kicked off the term by sharing our favourite Easter moments and our goals for the new term. We enjoyed taking a quiet moment to enjoy the sounds and wonders of nature on the WWF website in honour of World Earth Day. Our new Talk for Writing text is ‘The Windmill’ and we are loving adding our own actions to help us learn it.
47 pupils have maintained 100% attendance so far this academic year.

Wraparound Care Newsletter Update
As we look ahead into the term, we are excited to make the most of the brighter days ahead. With the lovely weather (hopefully) continuing, our teams will be providing even more opportunities for children to get outside, stay active and enjoy fresh air through games, sports and free play. Outdoor activities are a fantastic way for children to build friendships, develop confidence and burn off energy after a busy school day.
We are also delighted to share that special enrichment events will soon be dropping into our schedules to add an extra layer of fun and excitement to our sessions. Children can look forward to taking part in activities such as:
Glow Dodgeball – a high-energy, team-based game with a fun twist
Archery – a chance to learn new skills, focus on technique, and build confidence
These enrichment sessions are always a big hit with the children and we can’t wait to see their enthusiasm when they arrive and see our setup!
As always, our goal is to provide safe, engaging and memorable experiences for every child in our care. Here is to a fantastic summer term!

These revisions reflect the latest statutory guidance for 2025 and ensure our curriculum remains relevant, inclusive and responsive to the needs of our school community, with a continued focus on safeguarding, mental health, online safety, respectful relationships and preparing pupils for life in a modern and diverse society. We are incredibly proud of Max and Will, who, alongside their dad, have been working hard over the past few months to raise money for Race Against Dementia. So far, they have raised an amazing £6,000 plus Gift Aid, with more sponsorship still to come.
On Friday 22nd May, they will begin their exciting Skegness to Blackpool tuk it tour, with the boys setting off straight from school.

This year, as part of our school school development plan, we have refreshed our school vision, values and aims. We have also developed a 5-year strategic plan and been committed to school developments in the following areas:
Priority 1 Embed the 5-year strategic vision and strengthen the school’s ethos.
Priority 2 Raise standards in writing across the school.
Priority 3 Strengthen Leadership through effective monitoring and evaluation.

On Friday 15th May, we will be hosting our favourite event of the year, Sports Day!
This is advanced notice of timings so parents and carers can arrange to be at the event if they wish to spectate.

Foundation Stage/KS1 start time: 1:45pm

We are so very pleased to announce that we have secured the swimming pool, a swimming coach and a lifeguard so that swimming sessions can go ahead in school in Term 6. This year, the school is able to fully fund this activity for all pupils, therefore there will be no cost to parents. We are so lucky to have such an amazing facility on our doorstep.
A timetable and more details will be sent to parents in the next few weeks
We warmly invite all parents and carers to take part in our Kindness Cubbies initiative, located in the main entrance of the school. You're welcome to take what you need and give what you can.
