Lower Key Stage Two We have enjoyed a busy week of learning in Year 3 and 4. We are developing great basketball skills and are looking forward to playing some games over the next few weeks. We have lots of children who are determined to work through the times table homework challenges and it is wonderful to see how they are using their rapid recall in lessons. The BBC Supermovers songs are used to support movement breaks and learning key facts through song and dance- such good fun. Keep this up everyone! During the week we have been learning about road safety and enjoyed a workshop where the focus was on being observant and paying attention when walking on pavements and crossing roads. In science we have set up an investigation into evaporation and condensation and we are looking forward to observing the changes over the week. Well done to our wonderful Year 3 and 4 pupils.
Upper Key Stage Two Our English learning is developing beautifully as we move closer to shared writing. This week, we explored the importance of technical language, practised using adverbials of addition, learned how to compare ideas, and experimented with different ways to use generalisers. We were also very lucky to welcome some special Dragonologists into the Eagles class—experts in all things dragons—who helped bring our learning to life! In maths, we have been working hard on multiplying and dividing by 6, 7, 9 and 10, as well as by 100 and 1,000. Everyone has shown great determination and growing confidence. In our wider curriculum, we expressed ourselves through dance in PE and carried out exciting Science investigations into Forces, including a closer look at gravity, friction and air resistance. It’s been a fantastic week of learning, and we can’t wait for another exciting one ahead!
