Foundation Stage Children in Foundation Stage have begun their artwork, after being inspired by Monet’s lily pad art. We carefully used masking tape to create our bridges; we are then going to paint the background using brushstrokes. We can’t wait to show you our finished artwork.
Key Stage One This week we have been enjoying the sunshine! We have been continuing our wonderful writing about Elephog, creating our own animals to write information texts about. We have started learning about fractions in maths, learning about parts, wholes and equal parts. In History we are enjoying extending our knowledge about Brunel, drawing our favourite invention of his! We are looking forward to a fun-filled last week of term next week.
Lower Key Stage Two This week in Lower Key Stage Two, we’ve had a busy and exciting week of learning! In Science, we explored food chains and how producers create energy that is passed through the food chain to consumers. The children have made great connections to real-world ecosystems. In History, we’ve been learning about the Anglo-Saxons and how their villages were structured, comparing their way of life to ours today. In English, the children have worked hard on their final newspaper reports about the discovery of a magical land, showing lots of creativity and detail. In Religious Education, we studied the Good Samaritan story and discussed what it means to live a “good life,” leading to thoughtful conversations about kindness.
Another great week of learning—keep it up, everyone!
Upper Key Stage Two We couldn’t be prouder of our Year 6 pupils, who have faced their SATs this week with determination, resilience, and a brilliantly positive mindset. Sunny mornings, fresh air, and a breakfast in school with friends gave each day the perfect start and helped keep spirits high. In PSHE, we’ve revisited how to keep ourselves safe online, with a focus on developing our critical thinking skills. The children have been learning to question the credibility and authenticity of websites they encounter when using search engines – an essential skill in today's digital world. Excitingly, our Design and Technology pop-up books are now complete! The Woodpeckers did an amazing job bringing their designs to life with creative mechanisms and colourful designs – we can’t wait to share photos on Seesaw soon! On Wednesday, we were lucky enough to have one of our Governors (Mrs Duke) visit to share her passion for reading. With just one week to go until half term, we will be easing back into our normal routine next week – and we’re definitely looking forward to it! Don't forget, it's sports day on Friday too!
39 pupils have maintained 100% attendance so far this academic year.
Last years whole school attendance figure was 95.3%

If you would like to gift a book to school for a special occasion or 'just because', please see our Amazon Wishlist for some ideas. All books donated are marked with a special 'gifted by...' message and added to our library.
We couldn’t be prouder of our amazing Year 6 children and how they approached their SATs this week! They gave it their all—working hard, pushing through challenges, and showing such determination in how they tackled tricky questions without giving up, resilience when they stayed calm and kept going even if something didn’t go to plan, and courage in the way they faced each test with a positive attitude, even when they were feeling nervous. Their focus was outstanding, with every child giving their full attention and effort from start to finish. It’s been truly inspiring to watch – you’ve all done yourselves and the school proud!
To celebrate all the hard work, we had a fun-filled games afternoon, complete with pizza and cake! It was a well-deserved treat and a lovely way to relax, laugh, and enjoy time together after such an amazing effort from everyone.

We are thrilled to be working with Tanya again throughout the summer term. She has become a very popular addition to our school and appears to love working with us as much as we love working with her. There are many benefits to working with Pets as Therapy dogs including: improving general wellbeing, developing reading confidence, improving attendance, social and emotional development as well as enabling a quiet environment for some calmness and reflection. We are very grateful to the Pets as Therapy charity, and to Tanya's owner, for their voluntary services to our school.
