Foundation Stage Children in Foundation Stage have been creating trains using junk modelling. They have been adding wheels, chimneys, cabs and carriages to their trains. We can't wait to see what they look like when they are finished.
Key Stage One Our key stage one children have absolutely loved finishing their shared stories and are now beginning to write their independent stories inspired by Where The Wild Things Are. We cannot wait to share them next week. They have also been so excited to start making their bird sculptures in art using lots of different art materials to turn a 2D drawing into a 3D sculpture. We will be finishing these next week and are so excited to see the whole flock together!
We also want to say a big and heartfelt goodbye and good luck as one of our wonderful pupils begins a new adventure in South Africa!
Lower Key Stage Two This week in Years 3 and 4, we've have been busy refining our gymnastics skills, focusing on jumping and leaping techniques such as tuck, pike, and straddle. It's been fantastic to see them improve and enjoy the challenge of mastering these moves! Play rehearsals are well underway! The children have begun choreographing songs and acting out their roles in the hall. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and we can’t wait to see their performances come together. In History, we’ve been diving into the fascinating story of Hadrian's Wall. The students have shown great interest and have been learning about its history and significance. Finally, we're continuing to see tremendous effort and enthusiasm in practicing times tables. Our “Record of Achievement” is filling up, and the children are recognizing that with practice, they’re getting even better! Keep up the great work, everyone!
Upper Key Stage Two In UKS2 this week, we have continued our writing looking at how we can create an atmosphere to make the reader feel like they are immersed in the setting. The children are really enjoying being creative and are looking forward to creating their 'defeating a monster' stories. In Maths, Year 5 have started to look at fractions and equivalent fractions.Their knowledge of times tables will be really important as we move further into this unit. In Year 6, the children have continued to explore algebra, and learnt how to solve 2 step equations. In other parts of UKS2, the children have continued to learn about ancient Egypt, the social structure and the importance of the river Nile in the growth and success for the Ancient Egyptians. Our PE lessons have been really enjoyable, as the children have been improving their gymnastics, showing off their jumping and balancing skills. By the end of the term, we will be able to see routines full of fantastic skills.

Usborne Book Fair Update
We made a huge £1385 in sales of books at the book fair. This has given us £837 to spend on free books for school. Miss Wright is busy looking at the texts available to buy that will enhance our non-fiction reading across the school. Thank you everyone. The children are going to love adding these books to their reading for pleasure areas in the classroom.
If you would like to gift a book to school for a special occasion or 'just because', please see our Amazon Wishlist for some ideas. All books donated are marked with a special 'gifted by...' message and added to our library.
We have been asked to share this with families as Lincolnshire is expecting a SEN local area inspection and they would like feedback from pupils and families.
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are visiting your area as part of an inspection. We will be looking at arrangements for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

Children's Mental Health week runs from 3rd - 7th February. Our wonderful Happy and Healthy Ambassadors have been busy planning a super week to incorporate extra activities across the school. They have made plans to spend their Lidl voucher which they were awarded earlier in the academic year to support this initiative. They are sending Mrs South on a mission to buy resources for planting seeds and foods for a food tasting workshop. We are really proud of them. Please look our for their second newsletter which will be launched next week too.
Our football team played Winchelsea away on Thursday after school. It was their first game of the year and they played very well, displaying teamwork and passion. The final score was a 4-0 win to Metheringham. What a great start to the year!
