Foundation Stage Children in Foundation Stage have been identifying more complex repeating patterns. They have loved using their imaginations to create their very own repeating patterns.
Key Stage One This week the Year 1 and 2 children visited Rand Farm. The adventure began with a tour of the livestock area. The children were introduced to a variety of farm animals, including cows, sheep, chickens, and pigs. They even got to bottle feed the calves and feed the rather cheeky goats!
Lower Key Stage Two Year 3 and 4 have had a fantastic week of learning. In English, the children have been creating the story of a water droplet through pictures, using the book 'Rhythm of the Rain' as their inspiration. This forms the beginning of an exciting creative writing topic, which will support the children in showcasing their English skills and developing vocabulary. Our science learning this term focuses on plants; the children enjoyed demonstrating how pollen moves between plants, transported by insects, to pollinate the flower using glitter and pipe cleaners! In PE, swimming lessons have been embraced by all pupils. Similarly, a return to rounders has proved very popular and the children have demonstrated some great teamwork.
Upper Key Stage Two It's been another jam-packed week in UKS2. This week, our rehearsal for the end of year play have seen our young actors take to the stage without scripts, as well as adding dance routines to the songs. We also had a visit from a cricket coach, all of the children enjoyed taking part in showcasing their amazing batting and fielding skills. The Year 6s were busy putting the final touches to their Garden Party games.
With all the above going on, we still found time for our English and Math lessons. In English, the children have been working hard on their newspaper articles inspired by Hidden Figures and the moon landing. We are hoping to present final newspaper articles in the coming weeks. In Maths, we have continued to develop our understanding of shapes and angles, adding to our knowledge that the angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees. Year 6's have been getting ready for secondary school by learning... algebra!!!
20 pupils have maintained 100% attendance so far this academic year.
165 pupils have maintained 100% attendance so far this term.
Last years whole school attendance figure was 95.15%
Current whole school attendance is 95.35%
Our attendance figures this week are as follows:
Well done to all of our classes maintaining 95% or above. Miss Pearson's Class, you have the best attendance of the week, well done!
We would like to end the year with an overall whole school attendance figure of over 96%. This is doable, but we need everyone to help us by being at school every day until the end of the academic year.
If we can smash 96% by the end of the academic year, Mrs Duggin will reward the whole school with a fun, free and fabulous afternoon! How amazing would that be!
Let's do this!
During the last school week, we had 21_incidences of lateness.
Please be reminded that doors open at 8:45 and registration is at 9:00. This gives you 15 minutes to be early and have a calm start to the day.
These latenesses range from 5 minutes late to 210 minutes late. This has a huge impact on classroom teachers, office staff, pupils in class and the child that is late. Please help us to reduce lateness.
Every child from Year 2 upwards has a TTRockstars account which can be accessed in school or at home via the website TTRockstars
Battle of the Classes
Each week we will display the TTRockstars Class averages to see who is putting in the most effort across the school.
Miss Tucker's Class had the most active players in the last 7 days!
A reminder to all families that from September 2024 our school day will be aligned and all pupils will finish school at 3:30.
The ice-cream van will be visiting school on Wednesday 3rd July as an end of year surprise. All children will need £1 if they would like to purchase an ice-cream or iced treat. If your child does not have £1, we will assume you don't want them to take part.
Every child from Year 2 upwards has a Spelling Shed account which can be accessed in school or at home via the website Spelling Shed
Here are the latest scores on the whole-school leader board (these scores are based on their total score from the last 7 days):
Well done Harry, another top spot! What a great score.
Have you tried the new Grammar Arcade on Spelling Shed?
The Year 6 students excitedly received their leaver's hoodies, marking the end of their primary school journey and the beginning of new adventures.

There was such a wonderful atmosphere at our 2024 Garden Party on Thursday. We are so grateful for the generosity of our FoMS Team in volunteering their time to put on such an incredible event. They really are a Dream Team!
Year 6 garden games were a huge hit! The time, effort and creativity that went into their games blew us away. Everyone had so much fun.
Thank you to our Choir, Young Voices group, Drumba performers, Tap Dancers and the Lincolnshire Show speakers for entertaining the crowds. You certainly showcased the creative and inspiring year we have had.
Our staffing team worked hard to keep everyone safe and delighted in seeing the children having so much fun.
Thank you to our special community for coming along, getting involved and for all of your positive comments, they mean the world to us.
The school has set up an amazon wishlist with a whole host of ideas if anyone would like to donate something to the school. We will write inside the front cover of any books to say who it was donated by, and add the books to our school library. You are invited to donate a book on your child's birthday to mark the special day. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Our 0-5 Moving On Up sessions are on every Thursday in Term 6. Come and join us between 1:15-2:15. No booking required.
We are very much looking forward to the Splashathon on Saturday. It should be a fun day with games in the pool and the BBQ offering hot dogs and burgers. We hope the weather is kind to us and we raise lots of pennies for our community pool.
Please bring your sponsorship pennies and drop them in the bucket on the day. If you would prefer to just donate some cash then please do so. If you have multiple children and would like them to swim together then please ask the staff and I'm sure this will be ok if space allows.
See below for your child's class time slot. We are hoping that school staff will pop along to the event throughout the day to cheer the children on too.
Our moving up transition morning will take place on Monday 15th July. This is an opportunity for classes to meet their new teacher and spend time in their new classrooms.
After school on Monday 15th July, parents can also come into school and meet the new teacher. Please save the date.
Some of our Y6 children attended a dance festival with two other primary schools at Go Dance studios in Sleaford. They had an amazing time learning musical theatre, tap and modern jazz. They had the opportunity to learn different routines and then perform them at the end of the festival. Our children showed determination and resilience, and left feeling very inspired! Well done Y6s!
