Learning Updates

Foundation Stage Children in Foundation Stage  have been learning about what happens when you have to visit the doctors. They sequenced pictures after listening to a story and then wrote some wonderful sentences using time conjunctions.

Key Stage One This week in KS1 we have enjoyed watching our caterpillars transform into their chrysalides. We are keeping a watchful eye on our sunflower seeds - some of them have already started to sprout! Our Y1s and Y2s have been doing some lovely character descriptions of heroes and villains from Bug's Life, and informative writing about going to the doctors. The children have enjoyed taking part in Mini First Aid, and choosing their races ready for sports day! We hope you enjoy the long weekend.

Lower Key Stage Two LKS2 have had a brilliant week but the highlight was our trip to the International Bomber Command Centre. We learnt so much about WW2. It was so interesting to learn the history of our local area.  We had the opportunity to look and handle genuine artifacts along with some replicas which was fascinating. Some favourite artefacts were: the silk maps, flight log book and the uniform (including boots). On our tour, we were lucky enough to go inside a replica of an Anderson shelter and see what it would have been like. Did you know one raid lasted 11hours? Finally, one of the favourite activities was watching footage from WW2 and then controlling a Lancaster plane on the interactive board to complete the mission with each child having a different role in the team. Overall, it was a great day. We hope all the children have told you about it too!

Upper Key Stage Two This week has been all about the 'BIG LEGAL LESSON'. The law affects every aspect of our lives, and we want our children and young people to learn about it in the classroom. PC Matt Roberts came to visit our school on Monday and delivered an assembly to the whole school. To KS2, PC Roberts explained the law, how the law affects us, what laws do we know?  What is against the law? What happens if we break the law? Age of criminal liability. The children found this very interesting and enlightening.

attendance

29 pupils have maintained 100% attendance so far this academic year.

202 pupils have maintained 100% attendance so far this term.

Last years whole school attendance figure was 95.15%

Current whole school attendance is 95.54%

Our attendance figures this week are as follows:

Well done to everyone who has tried hard to be at school every day this week. Mr Edwards class, this is wonderful to see!

Lateness

During the last school week, we had  16_incidences of lateness.

Please be reminded that doors open at 8:45 and registration is at 9:00. This gives you 15 minutes to be early and have a calm start to the day.

These latenesses range from 13 minutes late to 250 minutes late. This has a huge impact on classroom teachers, office staff, pupils in class and the child that is late. Please help us to reduce lateness.

TTRockstars

Every child from Year 2 upwards has a TTRockstars account which can be accessed in school or at home via the website TTRockstars

It's time for a TTRockstars shake up!

Each week this term we will be focusing on effort. Mrs Duggin can see how many days each child has logged in and played TTrockstars. Each week she will award house points to each child which equates to the total number of days played that week. If you play every day you can earn a total of 7 house points for your team and maybe a 'quacking' prize if you put in the most effort across the term.

How many house points will you earn in the next 7 days?

Well done to Miss Tucker's Class for making the most effort in the last 7 days. A huge well done to Max E for making the most effort in the whole school!

Spelling Shed

Every child from Year 2 upwards has a Spelling Shed account which can be accessed in school or at home via the website Spelling Shed

Here are the latest scores on the whole-school leader board (these scores are based on their total score from the last 7 days):

Well done to Liepa and all of our top ten!
