Foundation Stage
Children in Foundation Stage have enjoyed a visit from a dentist. We learnt how many teeth we have, how to clean our teeth and the foods that help to keep our teeth healthy. What a wonderful way to be inspired!
Key Stage One
KS1 have had another busy and exciting week! We have finished writing our instructions and the children worked hard to make them clear, organised and easy to follow. In PE, everyone has enjoyed practising for Sports Day and showing great teamwork and determination. In history, we have continued learning about hospitals in the past and discovered how different they were compared to hospitals today. The children have asked thoughtful questions and shared excellent ideas. In art, we are enjoying recreating artwork inspired by Henry Matisse, experimenting with colour, shapes and patterns to begin creating our own masterpieces.
Lower Key Stage Two
This week has been full of exciting discoveries and creativity across the curriculum. In Science, we created our own set of panpipes to explore how pitch changes with different lengths of tubes. The children really enjoyed investigating the sounds they could make and discussing their findings.
We have also continued practising for Sports Day, with the children taking part in all of the events before narrowing down their final choices for next week. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and determination.
In History, we explored the challenges faced by bomber crews during the war and discussed the important impact they had. The children asked thoughtful questions and showed great interest in this topic.
In Art, we have been learning about cubism and had lots of fun recreating portraits in this unique style. The children enjoyed experimenting with shape and colours to create their own imaginative pieces.
Upper Key Stage Two
It has been another busy and exciting week at school! In Maths, we have begun a new unit on statistics, where the children are learning how to collect, present and interpret data. On Friday, we also took a moment to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, reflecting on his incredible contributions to our understanding of the natural world. Our much-loved PAT dog sessions are now back underway, bringing smiles and calm moments to the children. In Talk for Writing (T4W), our focus this week has been on varying adverbials to add specific detail to actions, balancing action, description and dialogue, and exploring how poetry can strengthen creativity and help us connect with a character’s inner feelings. In PE, the children have been working hard during athletics sessions as they prepare for Sports Day next week. In RE and Worldviews, we are continuing our enquiry into the question: “What motivates Humanists to lead good lives?” Finally, for our Y6s, next week couldn't come soon enough - SATs! Well done to all the children for their hard work and preparation - we are very proud of each and every one of them!

On Friday 15th May, we will be hosting our favourite event of the year, Sports Day!
KS2 start time: 10am (Parents can arrive from 9:50)
Foundation Stage/KS1 start time: 1:45pm (Parents can arrive from 1:35)
Children should come to school in their PE kits. If we are lucky enough to have sunshine on the day, please ensure children have sun cream, sun hats and water bottles.
Parents must be seated in the spectators areas and should not approach the children, this is for safeguarding and health and safety reasons.
Please note that all years groups will move around different sections. They all have a non-spectator section. This is to allow the children some time away from the crowds to have a bit of fun and a break until their next activity.
FOMS will be selling uniform, tea, coffee, ice-cream, soft drink and snacks for parents. This will be cash only.
Please help us create a lovely, supportive atmosphere by cheering on the children.

As SATs week begins, I want you to remember just how proud we are of each and every one of you. These tests are simply a chance to show what you know and the progress you have made during your time at primary school — they do not measure your kindness, creativity, determination, humour, or the many talents that make you unique. Over the years, you have worked incredibly hard, shown resilience, and grown in confidence, and now it is your time to shine. Believe in yourselves, try your very best, and remember that everyone at school is cheering you on. Get plenty of rest, enjoy the breakfast spread, and come into school ready to tackle the week with confidence and pride. You are ready for this — and we could not be prouder of you all.
We are very excited to be launching the WOW Walk to School Challenge with the support of our friends at Living Streets. As a school, thriving people and a thriving place are key priorities for us. This initiative brings these priorities to life. The Wow challenge encourages active lifestyles, keeps cars away from the school gates and helps us on our sustainability mission.
National Walk to School Week is just around the corner and will be running between 18th and 22nd May. This is the perfect opportunity for us to launch the challenge in school.
From May 18th, children will input how they travelled to school each day on classroom travel trackers. Each method of active travel will help them work towards a badge at the end of the month. At least one day of active travel per week will be required to be awarded a badge at the end of the month.

On Tuesday 19th May, we will be taking part in Happy Shoes Day.
Children are encouraged to come to school wearing any shoes that make them feel happy. These could be:
• Bright or colourful
• Sparkly or patterned
• Sporty or comfy
• Or even a little bit silly!
We will be sending photographs of the happiest shoes to our Friends at Active Travel Lincolnshire for a chance to win prizes.
