Foundation Stage Children in Foundation Stage have been creating some Arctic artwork using printing techniques. We can't wait for them to go up on display to we can share them with our parents.
Key Stage One This week, KS1 have been busy showing what they know in maths and reading! The teachers are so proud of everyone for showing heaps of resilience, determination and developing their growth mindset. In PSHE, we have been setting goals and learning about how to tackle challenging situations. We have also enjoyed finishing our fantastic writing about the Nativity story, and our own independent narratives. We've enjoyed learning a festive dance, and taking part in the active advent! We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas holiday!
Lower Key Stage Two We are having great fun in years 3 and 4 making calendars, sewing Christmas decorations and finalising the most wonderful writing. We have many children embracing the Advent reading challenge to keep their reading fluency and comprehension skills sharp and many children are working their way through the times table challenges with perseverance. We have been writing information texts this term and we couldn't be prouder of the efforts that we have seen. There is a lot of excitement as the children move into the publishing phase where they get to celebrate their wonderful writing. We are very much looking forward to more Christmas fun as we head into the final week of term. Well done everyone.
Upper Key Stage Two As we reach our last entry before Christmas, UKS2 has been very busy with everything happening in the run-up to the holidays. Assessment Week has been a great success, and it has been wonderful to see the fantastic progress the children have made since the start of the school year. Everyone is excited for the Christmas Fayre, with Year 6 preparing their Christmas games and Year 5 showing great responsibility as they support and help to run the stalls. There will be plenty of festive sparkle to enjoy, including the amazing Christmas calendars the children have designed and created to sell at the fayre! In English, the T4W Biography unit is now complete and teachers are busy assessing the children’s writing. Science and Geography units have also come to an end, with only the end-of-unit quizzes left to finish. Both staff and children are looking forward to a final week filled with Christmassy delights. UKS2 would like to wish everyone a very happy, joyful and safe Christmas—see you next year!

If you would like to gift a book to school for a special occasion or 'just because', please see our Amazon Wishlist for some ideas. All books donated are marked with a special 'gifted by...' message and added to our library.
We are thrilled to be working with Pets as Therapy Charity again this year. Tanya the PAT dog, and her owner Rachel, have been back in school this term and will continue to work with children throughout the academic year. She is very popular and supports the wellbeing of our pupils. We love having them in school. Children will only work with Tanya with permission from home and this is discussed with your child's teacher before any sessions begin.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Christmas Fayre on Thursday. We hope you enjoyed the festive fun and Christmas cheer.
A special thank you goes to our Year 6 pupils who created and crafted wonderful games for all to enjoy. It was lovely to see their ideas come to life.
We must also say a huge THANK YOU to our FOMS team and volunteers. The passion and energy that went into organising this year's stalls was impressive. Thank you for your kindness and commitment to raising funds for our pupils.
FOMS have made at least £1200 in profit and already have plans for giving this back to the children.
We will let parents know the total raised for the school before the end of term.
Our advent reading challenge is back by popular demand
A reading challenge has popped up outside our library. Read your home reading book 5 times a week, at home, and you will receive a raffle ticket. Pop your raffle ticket in the box by our advent tree and be in with a chance to be picked to take home and keep a festive story.
One person will be picked each day in December. Let the challenge and countdown commence!
1 raffle ticket can be earned during each of the following weeks:
1st-5th
8th-12th
15th- 19th
On Tuesday 16th December we will have a Festive Fun Day in school.
Children are welcome to come to school in festive clothes. Christmas dinner will be served in the school hall and anyone that is a packed lunch on this day, is welcome to make their lunchbox festive.
There will be a range of crafts, games and events planned to make the day extra special.
If the weather is good (third time lucky?), we will pop on our coats and go on a festive winter walk. Please send your child to school with appropriate clothing/footwear for a Winter walk.
As we come to the end of another busy and memorable year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our entire school community. This year has shown, more than ever, the strength, kindness, and unity that defines our school. Your support, encouragement, and partnership have been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for the community spirit that surrounds our children every day.
Our pupils have continued to amaze us with their resilience, enthusiasm, and determination. They have grown not only academically, but also in character—supporting one another, embracing new challenges, and bringing joy into our classrooms. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
This year has also brought profound sadness as we faced the heartbreaking loss of our Elsie. As a community, we have stood together through an unimaginably difficult time, offering comfort, compassion, and strength to one another. The courage and care shown by our families, children, governors and staff have been truly moving. We continue to hold Elsie's family in our thoughts.
As we look ahead to the Christmas break, we hope it brings you peace, rest, and precious time with loved ones. Thank you for all you do to make our school a warm and supportive place for every child.
