Mrs Woodhead has notified us that she will be retiring at the end of this academic year. Her outstanding work as School Business Manager over the years has offered so much strength and resilience to the school through periods of uncertainty with school budgets. Her support to the senior leadership team and staff has been unwavering and we will really miss her presence around school. Here is a message from Mrs Woodhead,
‘After 21 rewarding years, I have made the decision to leave the school community that has been like my second home. It’s been an incredible journey working alongside such dedicated staff, parents and pupils but now it’s time to step into retirement and embrace new beginnings.’
We have appointed Miss Louise Gardiner to the role of School Business Manager on a part-time basis. From September, she will be working very closely with Mrs Weston as she returns from maternity leave.
Foundation Stage In computing, the Reception children have been giving directions to a robot! Building on their direction language the children were able to move the Bee-bot from a starting point to a finishing point.
Key Stage One Key Stage One have been making the most of the sunshine this week! Alongside enjoying the warm weather, they’ve been working hard on their end-of-year assessments, where so many of our school values have truly shone through. In spelling and phonics, the children have been learning new spelling rules and using their creativity to invent funny sentences that showcase their growing skills.
Lower Key Stage Two This week in LKS2, we have been incredibly proud of our pupils for showing outstanding determination and resilience during their end-of-year assessments. Their brilliant attitudes and hard work have really shone through—well done, everyone! In Science, we’ve been exploring how shadows change throughout the day and learning about the importance of sun safety. In Geography, we’ve been developing our map-reading skills by studying Ordnance Survey maps and learning how to interpret the different symbols used. Our Music lessons have been full of rhythm and creativity! Year 3 have continued their exciting Djembe drumming, experimenting with different sound effects, while Year 4 are making fantastic progress in their recorder lessons. In PE, we absolutely love our swimming lessons and making the most of every opportunity to build our confidence and skills in the water.
Well done to everyone for a brilliant week of learning and enthusiasm!
Upper Key Stage Two As the end of term edges ever closer, the Woodpeckers - Year 5/6 are showing no signs of slowing down! Our week has been jam-packed with learning, rehearsals, and plenty of fun — and we've loved every minute. In history, our fascination with the Shang Dynasty continues to grow. This week, we explored what life was like in ancient China and delved into the structure of their society. The children have been captivated by how different — and sometimes similar — it was to our lives today. All this, while fitting in rehearsals for our end-of-term performance, swimming sessions, garden party preparations, and a host of other enriching activities. It's no small feat — but upper key stage two are taking it all in their stride, showing resilience, enthusiasm and teamwork every step of the way.
Well done, UKS2 — another fantastic week!

Year Four Shine at The Lincolnshire Show – School’s Challenge Success!
We are incredibly proud of our Year Four children who took part in this year’s Lincolnshire Show Schools’ Challenge, themed around Lincolnshire Legacies. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork truly shone through as they represented our school with pride.
In the lead-up to the show, the whole school worked hard during Science Week, focusing on the future of food through an exciting project on vertical farming. This sparked some brilliant ideas and thoughtful discussions about sustainability and innovation.
A huge thank you to Roots to Food, who delivered a fantastic workshop where children prepared delicious dishes featuring the iconic Lincolnshire Sausage. The learning didn’t stop there – our pupils also enjoyed immersive trips to the Lincolnshire Co-op, gaining insights into local food supply chains, and an unforgettable re-wilding experience at Wilder Doddington Hall, deepening their understanding of biodiversity and conservation in our county.
All of this hard work culminated in a brilliant presentation to the judges at the Lincolnshire Show.
We’re thrilled to announce that we achieved 3rd place in the large school category – a fantastic achievement that reflects the children’s commitment and creativity.
Well done to everyone involved – what a legacy to be proud of!
