Welcome back to Term 5! We hope you had a restful break and are ready for an exciting new term ahead. There’s lots to look forward to over the coming weeks, including new topics, trips, celebrations, Sports Day and opportunities for learning and growth.
Let’s make it a fantastic term together!
Foundation Stage 'As part of our Great Outdoors theme we have been learning about minibeasts. In Geography the Reception children used a map of the school to search for minibeasts. The children had great fun searching for minibeasts in the lovely sunshine'
Key Stage One In Key Stage 1, term 5 has started with energy, excitement and enthusiasm. The children have enjoyed learning about fractions in maths and starting their new units in English. In science the children loved walking around the school grounds hunting for wild plants and garden plants, and creating tally charts to represent this data. The children in Year 2 used their computing skills from earlier in the year to produce a graph to show the results. The children in Year 2 had a wonderful sports morning at Nocton where they took part in a range of sports to collect points for their team. A lovely start to the term.
Lower Key Stage Two This week, LKS2 have been busy diving into a range of exciting topics! In Science, they've kicked off a new unit on the digestive system—much to the delight (and occasional disgust) of the class, especially when discussing poo! PE sessions are in full swing as pupils practise for the upcoming Sports Day. In English, a thrilling tale of a girl transported to an underwater world via a washing machine has sparked imaginations, with children wondering where they might end up and what they could find. In History, they’ve been exploring life in Britain after the Romans left, learning all about the Anglo-Saxons and Scots.
Upper Key Stage Two We hope you all had a restful and enjoyable Easter break! The children have returned full of energy and enthusiasm, ready for a busy and exciting term ahead. We had a super first day - a gentle start with writing for our exciting writing books and DT, which was the 'making' stage of our pop up books. With the final push towards SATs, we’re working hard and staying focused. Please continue to support your child in their preparation and practice. In Maths, we’re just finishing up our learning on equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages, and then we’ll be starting our new unit on ratio in week 2. In History, we’re diving into a brand new topic—the fascinating Shang Dynasty! It’s an exciting opportunity to explore ancient China, and we’d love for you to get involved at home—why not find out some background information together with your child? Let’s make this term another great one!
39 pupils have maintained 100% attendance so far this academic year.

Great spelling everyone!
If you would like to gift a book to school for a special occasion or 'just because', please see our Amazon Wishlist for some ideas. All books donated are marked with a special 'gifted by...' message and added to our library.
A huge well done to everyone who took part in the recent hedgehog crossing design project – your creativity and passion for the environment really shone through!
We've received an image of the six winning entries – congratulations to the talented individuals featured in the photo! 🌟 Your signs will be proudly displayed around Wilcox Homes once printed.
Don’t worry if your design wasn’t selected this time – every single sign will be made into a collage, which will also be displayed in the show home. We’ve been told this will likely appear on Wilcox Homes' Facebook page once it’s all printed and up.
Thank you again for your amazing efforts and eco-minded creativity – you should all be very proud! 🌍💚

We are so very pleased to announce that we have secured the swimming pool, a swimming coach and a lifeguard so that swimming sessions can go ahead in school in Term 6. A timetable and more details will be sent to parents in the next few weeks.
We warmly invite all parents and carers to take part in our Kindness Cubbies initiative, located in the main entrance of the school. You're welcome to take what you need and give what you can.

We wish you all a lovely, safe and fun three day weekend.
