Student Health Services follows the Mercy values and enters the chaos of a student’s life to help them be successful in and out of the classroom. The staff provide resources for physical health, mental health, and modifications if needed to increase the ability to achieve goals. The Office also coordinates the requirements for the clinical sites to enable students to gain hands-on experience for their chosen profession.
Improved Health and Well-Being: Students will develop strategies to enhance their physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being leading to improved overall health outcomes.
Health Promotion: Students will gain knowledge related to health promotion, disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and risk reduction.
Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of one’s health issues/conditions, including prevention approaches, self-care practices, and appropriate intervention and treatment when needed.
Students will be able to describe health and wellness programs and services offered, how to access them, and understand their value to their well-being.
Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of medical requirements, criminal background requirements, and vaccine requirements of the college, clinical sites and school placements as relevant to their degree program.
Students will be able to identify resources and verbalize an increase of knowledge after attending programming for the following safety priorities, general health and well-being, sexual health, drug and alcohol usage, and bystander intervention.
