I am Syed Amuth U Rasool Qadri. I have completed my B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from NIT Srinagar. Presently I am pursuing Ph.D at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.I was selected as a Prime Minister research fellow in july 2018.

Research Project

  • In this project, gaseous nitriding of High and medium Entropy alloys is employed.The resulting microstructures are characterized by employing light microscopy, Scanning Electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, hardness measurements,EBSD, TEM and APT measurements.

Research work done

  • Gaseous nitriding of equiatomic FeNiCo medium entropy alloy carried.The alloy showed isothermal phase separation triggered by inwardly diffusing nitrogen into Fe/N enriched and Fe/N depleted FCC solid solutions.

  • Low temperature nitriding of 316 L Stainless steel powders followed by subsquent Spark plasma sintering.These powders after nitriding were charcterized used light microscopy, Scanning Electron microscopy and microhardness measurements.
